Hello

Just a quick note say thanks to all of the parents/guardians who showed up to Meet the Teacher last night. It was very nice to meet everyone. Also thanks to all of the helpers in my class with the Parent Handbooks.

Friday's work:

1) Spelling - finish exercises (homework) Dictation will be on Monday.

3) Math - worked on Mid Unit Math Review (make sure everything is complete for Monday)
started Order of Operations (will continue with on Monday)
4) Collage Writing - What you think is TUFF?? WHY? Describe some of the pictures or words in your collage and what they mean to you. Do your classmates have similar ideas to what you think is TUFF??? Different?? (we will be typing our good copy on Wednesday in the computer lab)

Many students did not get your read-a-loud (Meet the Teacher Page) signed last night. Make sure to get signed this weekend. Use your agenda.

Hello

Great work in class over the past few days, however some need to improve their homework (mainly math). Make sure to complete the assigned work this weekend so you don't fall too far behind in your marks.

Today's work:
1) Math - marked Prime Factors, Pages 17 to 18, #1-12 (many incomplete)
2) Started 1.3 Expanded Form and Scientific Notation, Pages 19-22, #1-8 -Homework
3) Journal entry
4) Writing Folder design

Also remember to bring in magazines, pictures, etc... for your TUFF Collage on Monday.

Hello Bloggers/Students/Parents

I am sorry that I have not been updating my blog daily to date, but will try to use it nightly from here on in!!! We have had a family emergency over the past few days, along with the already crazy schedule the first few weeks of school.

I would like to congratulate the 8.1 class for their work ethic, behaviour, punctuality, attendance, and overall enthusiasm to date!! The first few days have been very enjoyable!

Things we have been working on the last few days:
1) Math - 1.1 Numbers in the Media, Pages 9-13, #1-6, 9
- 1.2 Prime Factors, Pages 14-18, #1-12, 13-16 bonus
2) Spelling - Completed all of lesson 1
3) Language Power - Lessons 1-3
4) The Outsiders - up to chapter 4 (questions and title page)
5) S.R.A. reading activities
