Yesterday was an excellent day as students worked well in the morning to complete all of their assigned activities to enter the dance. The dance went especially well, as I would say it was the best one we have had in many years due to a great deal of participation. I will post some pictures and maybe a video or two.

Classwork:
1) Halloween Unit - should be up to date: title page, penmanship, poetry, reading comprehension, etc...
2) Math Tests were completed and need to be signed this weekend. (we are moving to Unit 3 next week)
3) Dictation on Monday for Halloween List words
4) HEAT - Chapter 5 (we will complete Monday and move to Chapter 6)

A reminder that tonight is the Halloween Fun Night at the School from 6 - 8. Come out and have some fun.

Tomorrow there is a dance in the afternoon for students that have all of their work completed, good behaviour, and good attendance/punctuality. Students should dress in costume to get in the school spirit. Pop and chips will be sold at the dance as well.

Work over the past few days:
1) Math - We have finished Unit 2 (Applications of Ratio, Rate, and Percent) over the past few days. Students were to complete a work handout on Lessons 2.6 (Sales Tax, Discount, and Commission) and 2.7 (Simple Interest). Today we are starting the Unit Review in preparation for our test on Monday, October 29th. Students should also complete the Practice Test on Page 91 for some extra practice.

2) Spelling - Lesson 7 - Exercises due tomorrow. STUDY FOR DICTATION!

3) Halloween Unit - the follow should be complete to-date.
a) Title Page - Coloured in.
b) Epitaph - Writing a funny epitaph on the Tombstone Page.
c) Purrrfect Penmanship
d) Poetry (working on Friday)

4) S.R.A. activity completed on Wednesday in-class.

5) Hatchet Novel Study
a) Design and print a title page related to the novel from what has been read in the first few chapters.
b) Complete chapter 1 & 2 questions (typed)

A reminder that it is essential that all workbooks, notebooks, supplies, AGENDAS, and HOMEWORK are completed and brought to class EVERY SINGLE DAY!
